1. Scope and Academic Standards

The Brazilian Journal of Applied Humanities publishes original, unpublished, and methodologically rigorous research in the field of Humanities.

Manuscripts must demonstrate:

  • Clear research problem

  • Theoretical consistency

  • Methodological transparency

  • Analytical depth

  • Contribution to international scholarly debate

Submissions must not be under consideration elsewhere.

2. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts may be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.

Articles must include:

  • Title (in original language and English)

  • Abstract (up to 250 words)

  • 3–5 keywords

  • Introduction

  • Theoretical framework

  • Methodology

  • Results and discussion

  • Final considerations

  • References

Recommended length:

  • Research Articles: 6,000–10,000 words

  • Theoretical Essays: 5,000–8,000 words

  • Systematic Reviews: according to declared protocol

3. Ethical Standards and Research Integrity

The journal follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics.

Research involving human participants must include:

  • Ethics Committee / IRB approval

  • Protocol number

  • Statement of informed consent

Authors must ensure:

  • Data accuracy

  • Transparency of methods

  • Proper citation practices

4. Plagiarism and Similarity Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.

The journal adopts zero tolerance for:

  • Plagiarism

  • Self-plagiarism without citation

  • Data fabrication

  • Duplicate submission

  • Salami publication

Confirmed misconduct results in immediate rejection.
If discovered post-publication, corrective measures may include retraction.

5. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.

A statement must be included:

The authors declare no conflict of interest.

Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves when conflicts arise.

6. Authorship Criteria

Authorship is restricted to those who:

  • Substantially contributed to the conception or design

  • Participated in data analysis or interpretation

  • Drafted or critically revised the manuscript

All authors must approve the final version prior to submission.

7. Peer Review Process

The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system.

Evaluation criteria include:

  • Scientific merit

  • Originality

  • Theoretical contribution

  • Methodological soundness

  • Clarity of argument

Editorial decisions may be:

  • Accept

  • Minor revisions

  • Major revisions

  • Reject

8. Data Transparency and Reproducibility

When applicable, authors are encouraged to make datasets available in repositories or upon request.

Any limitations in data access must be clearly justified.

9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright.

Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal the right of first publication.
